Spring 2009 is definitely all about accents. Keen attention and use of embellishments and accents is the focus of most designers this season.
One of the top accents is the uses of zippers. Normally zippers are used as closures on garments and accessories, but for spring 2009 designers are using a lot of creativity when incorporating the zipper. They are showing up at the hem of pants, pockets and lots of unexpected places. I've seen shoes for example, including open toe sandals, that have tiny zippers all over. Tote bags and clutches now have visible zipped compartments on the outside.
If you’re going to work this trend this season, my suggestion is to try an accessory like a belt or perhaps an oversized tote.
