Are belts the functional or fashionable? That is the question. My answer is ... (drumroll please) ...who cares?! Belts are riding the wave of fashion for 2008 just like every other garment and accessory and they are running the gamut from extreme widths, like wide corsets to skinny tubes. Flipping through various fashion magazines, I came up with a list of what seems to be in for 2008. :
1. Wide elastic cinches in all fabrications, leather included
2. Patent straps with geometric buckles
3. Colored buckles
4. Silk and leather sashes, wide and thin
5. Zipper details
6. Snap and turn lock closures
7. Front eyelet lacing
8. Twill and nylon webbing
9. Circle and cobra chain belts
10. Pyramid and flat studs
11. Laser cut patterns on straps
12. Contour and drop-waist styles
