Who’s wearing the pants? For spring/summer 2009 wearing pants is definitely not just a guy thing. No matter what your body shape or taste, there is a pant just right for you. From jumpsuits, skinny pants, wide-leg, cropped, shorts, skorts and even bloomers, designers are offering pants in their collections.
No need to fret about what’s in fashion, you only need to fret about what fits you. There are several styles that although some heavy hitters are showing them in their line, I just won’t be fretting over fitting me. The dhoti and the harem pant like the jumpsuit are making a big statement this season. Fabulous as they are in all the opulent fabrics and colors, I have to say, unless Ralph himself sends me a pair, I am just saying no. The everyday version of these dramatic duds is a little more up my alley.
Cropped pants are a warm weather favorite and since this also seems to be the year of the shoe, they are a fabulous choice. If you prefer a slim fit, you might want to lean towards capri pants. I am a huge fan of trousers, both tailored and full cut, but I have to watch out for the volume since I am a little conscious of my weight. A great rule to follow is for maximum flattery, pants should hang in a straight line from your bottom. That way it skims over your thighs without clinging.
For an effortless but fabulous warm weather outfit, pair the pant of your choice with ultra sexy form fitting top, add a great pair of it shoes and just see if he minds you wearing the pants.
