When the weather gets colder it's almost reflex for people to put away their white clothing and accessories. Not this year my friends. The fashion powers that be are showing a lot of winter white this season. I am a big fan of this trend.
A simple rule for working this trend could be: if it’s white and keeps you warm, wear it. We're not talking white sundresses and cotton skirts. This is the season for thicker fabrics and a tad more coverage.
One winter white wear and care tip, spray your clothes with scotchgard to keep dirt and stains to a minimum. Here are a few ideas to work the winter white trend when you normally would choose a dark color or print:
1. White outerwear - Try a classic trench coat or one of this seasons capes, ponchos or cozy structured fleece or outdoor style jackets.
2. White boots - Channel your inner go-go dancer with a pair of white patent leather booties or thigh highs.
3. White gloves - Look to white instead of black; gloves of any length are a definite yes this season.
4. White footwear - Try a pair of flats or menswear style oxfords. Heavier looks are best for this.
5. Accessories- pair your winter whites with a fabulous accessory trend like leopard, pink or any bright color.
6. Last but not least, a bright ruffled white blouse will add pop to any outfit.
