I will say it again; hold the Ben and Jerry’s. The slouch look for spring 2009 is not your average slouch.
Although this trend will be slightly forgiving to those pesky extra pounds, the body image for this one is still slim and designers are keeping things body conscious. For lack of a better description think of the sweatshirt in Flashdance…shudder. Skirts, trousers and dresses all have slouch appeal done with draping.
Garments and accessories are being shown in fluid fabrics that are ruched and fall on the body in a way that's actually quite sexy and flattering to most figures. I think this tends to give an evening look to garments but that also allows the garment to pull double duty for night and day.
I don’t think I personally will be jumping on the slouch bandwagon, but I've seen some really hot fashions in the magazines. I would suggest adding a top or an accessory to your wardrobe like a silky blouse and a wide belt with a fab buckle.
