I see London, I see France, remember that one; well you don’t have to go that far. Lingerie is sometimes so pretty it’s a shame to hide it so this season you have permission almost encouragement to show a little lace. Sheer fabric is in for 2008 and keeping in step with that trend, here comes the trend of wearing underwear as outerwear. All you Madonna wanabees break out those bustiers in the back of the closet. The undergarment that usually inspires underwear as outerwear the most is the corset and next would be the bra.
This time around other undergarments are taking a turn. Camisoles, robes and slips are coming down the runway as everyday garments. Now I don’t think anyone can pull off a pair of jammies and robe with a huge leather belt like he models at the haute couture fashion shows but there are ways to work this trend for the everyday gal.
Try a slip dress peaking out from under a belted duster or robe like coat or a lacy camisole under a suit. If you got legs, try a pair of lacy top panties instead of a pair of shorts or a lacy slip instead of a skirt this summer.
For the timid try pretty bed-jacket like blouse or a hint of a lacy bra or cami peeking under a light sweater.
I personally think this is a nice trend there is some gorgeous lingerie out there that is just too pretty to hide underclothes and you don’t have to wait for him to wear them... A nice thought while you’re treating yourself you’re sort of getting a 2 for 1 deal, so go ahead and splurge.
