Scarves are a hot fall 2009 fashion accessory. They are one of those items that can swing from functional to fashionable; don't consider them just for warmth.
Wearing a scarf wrapped around the neck with jeans, casual clothing or dress wear has become a popular trend and it’s being embraced by guys just as passionately as girls. Scarf styles for fall 2009 offer a great selection in a variety of colors, textures and lengths.
One of the hottest styles right now is the infinity scarf, which is an endless circle of fabric that you can wrap or wear loosly like a cowl neck. Pashminas and other extra long scarves are also making a comeback with both sexes; very European. Chunky wide knits seem to be the favorite among females while guys are leaning towards lightweight flat knits.
Here are a few style suggestions for working this trend.
1. look for bright colors of the moment like pink, red or purple.
2. Try a chunky textured knit for fun.
3. For a more refined look try patterned fabrics or knits like paisley and of course plaid. The endless “infinity” scarf is a nice option..
4. Large fine gauge knit pashmina or thin scarfs look beautiful with evening dresses.
5. A scarf embellished with faux fur, work two trends at once.
6. The good ole standby scarf, gloves and hat combo is a great way to punch up your winter coat and look put together.
