Unless you’re a Vegas Showgirl, there are two things you can’t get away with wearing on a regular basis: feathers and sequins. Of course I have a secret fancy for both. Now that Thanksgiving is over we get a change from cozy comfy clothing to festive holiday clothes.
Sequins are normally worn at night, but they are showing up in the light of day for Fall/Winter 2008. In fact, sequins have become the fall/winter trademark of one of the big names in fashion. Prada has a gorgeous ad with their model wearing a sequined bikini top, complete with matching sequined jewelry and purse. I don’t think I could work this outfit, but it actually does not look over the top.
Sequins are perfect for the upcoming holidays and there are so many choices. Try a sequin skirt with a plain sweater or top or jump in full force with a dress. For the not so bold, who just want to dip their toe in this trend, try a great sequined accessory, like a headband, a belt or pair of shoes. But do try because this is the season to sparkle.
