Designers are taking inspiration for fabrics from just about everything but it can be broken down so your purchases can fit your taste and even your personality. Look for:
1. Whimsical prints - Hearts, flowers, peace signs, birds, cartoon inspired graphics, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s retro influences.
2. Animal prints. For me leopard rules, but the whole animal kingdom is represented this season: zebras, giraffes and cheetahs are getting equal time as are all of our reptile friends. If you’re looking for a pink python, don’t bother with the zoo, head straight to the mall.
3. Color, color and color. Crayon box bright and pastels, tie-dyed, ombre’ prints, metallics and foils swing both fun and sophisticated.
4. Textures for the eyes and touch such as knits, lace and sequins give both a high-tech and dramatic look.
5. Stripes and polka dots get a fresh look with metallic brights and surface textures.
