Accessories of any kind are hot items for fall 2009. In addition to being fun to wear they are a great way to change and extend the life of your wardrobe. One of the hot accessory trends for fall/winter 2009 is pearls. Pearls are one of those fashion trends, like leopard, black leather and plaid, that are just about always in style becoming extra popular every few years.
Barbara Bush made them popular a few years back in an “American pie” sort of way, but this year they are total glam. Instead of one strand, pearls are being piled on faux or real. I have always been a fan of pearls, so I will be adding an extra strand or four when I wear mine. Didn’t Kim Kardashian look gorgeous in nothing but the yards and yards of pearls for her Playboy photo shoot? Yes, admit it. So imagine them with a fabulous outfit.
Whether your fashionista hero is Kim K., Barbara B. or Grace Kelly, pearls will add instant glamour and class to your wardrobe. Here are a few suggestions to work this trend into your fall/winter wardrobe.
1. Pile on pearls with your distressed denim under a white button down, sweater or t-shirt
2. Add pearls to a suit for day or nightime glamour.
3. Pair a simple outfit of black leggings and black cardigan with pearls to make basic black anything but basic.
4 Wear pearls with a boyfriend cardigan and jeans for a fun weekend look.
5. Of course pair your pearls with a cashmere sweater or twinset.
