Pile on the glitz. This is definitely one of the fun trends for Spring 2009 and could apply to pretty much the overall theme in fashion for 2009. Everything is elaborate glitzy and glamorous, especially accessories. More is better. No need to fear overdoing it because it can’t be done! Spring 2009 is the time to overdo it. Go ahead and wear that complete jewelry ensemble that would have been too much.
Normally I shy away from wearing too much jewelry, so this will take a little getting used to. Accessories have been right in style since Fall/Winter 2008 and necklaces are particularly hot right now and he bigger the better. I call it the “Grandma look” in honor of one of my grandmothers who liked to break out the bling on a daily basis, even to family picnics.
Now is definitely time to break out those matching necklaces, earrings, and bracelets that you have tucked away or try a matching pair of ornate cuffs and a necklace. For spring 2009 more is definitely better, so go ahead and pile it on.
