There are so many fabulous trends and looks for Fall/Winter 2008; one of my favorites is mixing fabrics and patterns.
One reason I think this is so much fun is you get the chance to dress like a child or zany Aunt Millie, get away with it and be right in style. This idea normally is part of a peasant, hippie look but this season it’s from high fashion to the local mall.
Mixing usually is a favorite of high fashion designers but this look isn’t as difficult to pull off as you might think. The simple rule of thumb for this look, whether it’s a plaid, print or floral, is to pick out a few colors are represented in both garments.
Try mixing a floral blouse with another floral skirt, a plaid skirt with a color blocked sweater or completely go for it and mix two separate plaids of completely different colors together.
Have fun with this trend, anything goes, but beware especially mixing your plaids, and use caution. There is a thin line between looking like you walked off the cover Vogue Magazine or the cover of Holiday greeting card.
