2009 is definitely a body conscious year. Fall/winter 2008 started a salute to the feminine form and it continues right into spring/summer 2009. Shorts are a major fashion item for the warm weather that’s coming.
The shapes run the gamut from body hugging to boomers, but the length definitely seems to be taking a cue from how most folks feel about our supply of cash… short. No longer just for picnics and the beach, shorts are going everywhere, comfortable casual for day and high glamour for night. It may not work at your office, but try wearing a suit with shorts, instead of the traditional skirt or trousers.
Note: Guys please pass on this trend and girls save the daisy dukes for washing the car and bumming around the house.
Another up to the minute idea is to wear a pair of black or even sequined shorts for a sexy hot date outfit instead of jeans. There is a short for everyone: for you traditionalists, there are khaki, denim and madras and for the fashionably daring try something flirtier in an unusual embellished fabric or lingerie look. So ladies if you got the legs this is the year to flaunt them. Dare to go there, go bare, go short, and the shorter the better.
