Gloves
I don’t wear them a lot but I love gloves. To me they could definitely be called a forgotten fashion item. I have a “I wish people wore more list” and gloves are at the top.
I just think it’s too bad so many folks save wearing gloves for cold weather, because they are also a great fashion accessory that can add or change the look of an outfit.
Once upon a time a lady didn’t leave the house without a pair of gloves to complete her outfit, it just wasn’t done. As with hats, matching purse and shoes. I definitely like to break fashion rules, but wearing gloves for protocol and not fashion’s sake would be so okay with me.
I am really excited gloves are part of the accessories craze for Fall/Winter 2008. All across the magazine pages designers are showing gloves of various lengths ranging from the wrist up to the shoulder. The choices range from fabulous gloves accented with fun embellishments such as bows, buckles, feathers and fringe to tastefully plain.
I have had my eye on a pair of black leather opera gloves I saw in a magazine and its almost cold enough to rationalize my purchase. I plan on rocking them with a short sleeve sweater - whether I make it to the opera or not.
