Lingerie influence on streetwear and underwear worn as outerwear is a trend we have been seeing in all the top fashion magazines for several months.
Now that the weather is getting warmer its almost appropriate that this trend has heated up and going a bit more bare at times.
One lingerie influence in particular that is showing up on garments and accessories is the corset or corset detailing. I personally like this trend, and I think it goes hand in hand perfectly with the ultra feminine and body conscious influence we have been seeing in clothes for almost a year.
The corset detail is perfect for showing off what you have and creating what you don’t. It allows those of us with less than perfect shapes to wear some of this summer’s more revealing fashions and still look and feel great. I also like this trend because it’s sexy without showing a lot of skin and you can wear it alone or pair it with another top like a white tee-shirt, button down or even a turtle neck this coming fall.
Some of the corset influences I have seen are quite clever many designers were able to translate this trend onto unlikely garments and accessories like pants, handbags and shoes.
