Plaid can be considered one of the official “colors “of fall. Frugalistas everywhere are especially lucky because plaid has been holding tight in the fashion scene since spring 2009, so if you’re not quite ready for wool some of your warm weather clothes can layer up and easily transition into fall.
I am a big fan of plaid; I wore red plaid on my first day of school. I spent the next 12 years wishing I went to a school that required a plaid uniform so I am excited to see plaid right in style for “school girls” of all ages. If you’re not a plaid skirt or shirt kind of gal here are a few other ideas to get your plaid on.
1. Try a great mini dress or sheath in plaid, pair it with basic black or even winter white accessories.
2. Use plaid accessories like an oversized tote or wide belt.
3. Interesting shoes are in, so try a fabulous pair of plaid flats, heels or wedge.
4. Pair plaid leggings with a solid top, mini or t-shirt and trench coat.
5. If you just want to dabble try a plaid headband, scarf or even a watchband,
More experienced fashionistas may want to try their hand at mixing plaids and plaids with prints, proceed with caution.
Mad for plaid,
