Every now and then a fashion item comes down the catwalk that at first glance seems like it won’t make it off the runway and into my closet. One of the trends that have got us everyday fashionistas giving second thought is the corset or bustier. Long ago these were hidden, mean to to define and elongate a deligate frame. Today they are all show, front and center in all their defining glory. Here are a few ideas:
1. Wear a corset under your ultra feminine or menswear inspired suit over another shirt for day and alone at night.
2. Add a leather corset over a sweater or sweater dress.
3. Pair a corset with this season’s thigh high boots over black leggings and t-neck.
4. Wear a corset over an ultra feminine dress or over a flirty blouse and add a pair of distressed jeans.
5. Try pairing a corset with matching opera gloves alone for instant evening glamour and over a white t-shirt for day.
This is accent not costume; treat it that way for a beautiful result.
