Fall 2009 is full of trends that have a retro or even a vintage feeling. One of the items making a comeback is the black leather biker jacket; this time around it’s for the girls and not just in leather.
Throw on a biker jacket for instant rock and roll tough girl chic. Designers have gone wild for the look. If you’re not a hell-raiser or Harley girl type check out some of the other versions of the biker chick jacket. The choices are endless. There are oversized and shrunken versions in denim, suede and heavy cotton.
Shop around and find one to fit your budget. You might get lucky at a second hand store. Remember when working this trend, the more worn in (or distressed) the better. Here are a few outfit ideas to top off with your new jacket:
1. An ultra feminine dress looks cool under an edgy leather jacket; Stevie Nicks had it going on way back when.
2. Work a scene from "Grease" in all black, throw on a pair of black leggings, black or white-tee, pile on the bling and you're good to go.
3. Top off your work outfit with a cool biker chick jacket to add a little edge to your style en route.
4. Top off your favorite pair of distressed, boyfriend or skinny jeans; need I say more?
5. Cross over to the wild side and pair your jacket with a great pair of leather pants or skirt. For fun, try a peek of pearls around your neck.
