Justin’s not the only one who knows how to turn a fling into a long-lasting, uh, longer-term fling...the much-coveted open back style is here to stay.  Just like a short skirt or low-cut top, an exposed rear view (north, people, north rear view) is a much appreciated, often less expected, shot of skin.  True, you can show it all at once, and do the cleavage/thigh/midriff/ combo, but sometimes the less you show the more you up the intrigue and the back is like a secret weapon you can pull out to send jaws dropping without appearing too BayWatch-esque.

Vanitas’ Backless Dress in Green Jungle Print is a perfect example of designers’ attention to integrating several trends in one piece.  Lively prints are a must, and the open back detail makes sure you’re show-stopping coming and going.

You will walk into a room with confidence when you put on
Young Fabulous and Broke’s Backless Doleman Top; super-soft jersey, contrast ribbed banding and scoop neck make it a great top, although fairly simple from the front, but your exit will leave him speechless.  A completely open back leaves you bare from nape to waist, and gives a newfound sexiness to the words scapula, traps and vertebrae.

Alisha Levine plays the print card, too, with her Print Backless Top.  A ruffled trim split shows the small of your back so you can avoid over-exposure, and the prints are chic and elegant, making this a fabulous daytime style.  Stop fronting—it’s over-rated, and
Norma Kamali Everlast proves it with her Halter Bubble Dress in Black or Lemon.  It’s a classic way to show off the skin 180 degrees away from your everyday emphasis on the frontal façade.

A sweet style by
Rebecca Taylor puts a halter on the whole cleavage-is-in thing, with her Open Back Halter Top.   Bare back is the key to sexy back, and these styles will surely keep your back open after-hours, making for a style statement far more interesting than the trends of late.  And while we know it never left, sexy is back, more specifically, open back; we love you, JT, but our backs are sexier than yours, and we just proved it.
