Style for Spring/Summer 2008 is definitely about all things whimsical: fluffy fabrics, bright colors, prints, floral, and rainbow colored reptile skins. Designers are really letting go and using all sorts of non traditional inspirations guide them in their designs.
One of these inspirations is nature. Not nature as you might expect: using natural colors and fabrics, but nature’s four legged and winged friends. Insects, birds and plant life are being used to inspire and adorn garments and accessories for Spring/Summer 2008.
To instantly update your wardrobe just get your hands on anything with flora or fauna all over it. The choices are endless. A few examples of this the animal kingdom influence in fashion” are:
1. Spiders, Butterflies, Dragonflies and Ladybugs
2. Birds in print or the use of Feathers
3 Zebras, Leopards and Mice (yes, mice)
You might think this trend doesn’t quite work but actually it’s quite interesting and some of the ideas designers have come up with are quite adorable and fun to wear. This trend seems to mostly be represented by accessories: hairpins, barrettes and broaches.
The nice thing about this fashion trend is you can choose your level of commitment the gamut runs from hairclips and broaches under $50.00 to shoes adored with insects over $500.00.
