Leather is always “in style” and handbags will always be a necessary fashion item, I hope, but each season they seem to take on some special form that becomes a hot trend in fashion. Right now the handbag of the moment is the crocodile tote. You can find them real or faux. Real are, of course, big bucks.
Crocodile, like most luxury textiles, is popular with die hard fashionistas. Although crocodile is pricey, it's timeless, so unless you buy something extremely unique or dated, you can consider your purchase an investment that you could even hand down to a lucky up and coming fashion lover.
I am a fan of neutrals like brown, black and tan, but this season you will be seeing every color of the rainbow, especially multi and bright colors.
There are several tote styles to chose from like framed or soft, with different handles and closures. One of the items on my “if I could afford it list “is a Birkin Bag by Hermes, but a Birkin-esque bag perhaps by Bottega Veneta, Furla, or Donald Pliner, might be a bit more realistic financially. I plan on doing some Olympic bargain hunting this season. If I opt to go straight retail, I have seen some gorgeous totes by Linea Pelle, Carla Mancini and Hype to name a few. Wish me luck.
