Tulle, beautiful tulle, that wispy sheer fabric that only little girls and ballerinas can wear without a second look, is now a current hot fashion trend for big girls…Hurray!!!
I am always looking for a reason to get real girly so this is a favorite of mine. We saw this trend a little bit last year and again over the holidays, but this season designers have come up with ways to wear tulle during the day so you don’t have to wait for the sun to go down to unleash your inner ballerina.
There is the obvious and standard fare for day or nite like lingerie by Moschino, dresses, slips and skirts by LaRoK and Betsey Johnson, but for casual day-wear try a pair of tulle embellished Guess jeans, a fancy t-shirt by Christian Lacroix or Blugirl Follies. Gorgeous blouses by Malo can work or play.
For those of us on a budget or you closet ballerinas, try a pair of Nina shoes or a pretty accessory like a necklace or headband by Juicy Couture. Don't overdo it girls, just an accent here or there will do. So pretty!
