Does anything say resort more than navy stripes on white? The look has that classic, sitting-on-a-yacht style that is so fresh and compelling this time of year. And here they are again, but this time in all kinds of necklines and styles, long-sleeve, tank, crew, scoop and henley. There's certainly variety this go-round.
I wasn't sure about this look for me. One of my New Year’s resolutions was to glam it up a bit more even on the weekends. I want to try some styles I've been hesitant about. The nautical look is not a fit for glam.
I may reconsider, however, after finding some very cool stripes in some of the more high end collections, not looking so shall-we-say cotton and cultured preppy. I was surprised to find stripes by labels like Theory, Ella Moss and Juicy Couture in soft blouses, dresses and more. Ella Moss has a fun Cover Up in stripes of pink for example.
Although blue and white are considered the traditional color combo for stripes and resort, I give thanks to these labels and the rainbow of color combos they are offering so I have a bit more to choose from within this distinctly warm weather style.
