Since the whole world is is on a budget this year, it's really nice that so many trends are being carried over from Fall/Winter 2008 into spring 2009. Ruffles are holding their own as a big fashion accent trend for spring. The really nice thing is that each fashionista is able to work this trend in her own personal way.
Name your poison, ruffle accents are being used on clothing, accessories and shoes. Generally we see ruffles being used to accent hems, cuff and necklines, but designers have been quite innovative in their use this season. I have seen several really clever ideas and in some equally unusual fabrications, like leather and snakeskin.
