I always lusted after the leather bags the walking mail man used to carry. You still see them in the city on bike messengers -- usually a bit beat up looking.
I am a big bag, large purse, tremendous tote fan, so I am truly glad that messenger bags are getting some major play in the fashion world both for men and women -- guys this is a great bag alternative to a tote or briefcase. It does not look like a "man-purse." We are all on the same cool page at this fashion moment.
Messenger bags are perfect for carrying around lists and all the gear we need for all day holiday shopping. Perfect timing! Some of them are big enough for a weekend overnight trip. Some are actually quite small to hold a wallet and phone.
If leather isn’t your bag, pardon the pun, designers are showing lots of options in the colors and fabrications. Look for versions in printed vinyl, leather, khaki, and faux snakeskin
Whatever fabrication you choose, make sure you carry the fashion message with lots of detailing, hardware and pockets. This is a convenient and currently very fashionable way to carry all your extras.
