All I have to say is thank goodness for this trend. I like to stay in style like the next fashionista, but there are some trends I just will not participate in. I have skipped each season skinny jeans were in style and this year was going to be no exception.
Since both skinny and baggy loose jeans are rocking the runway, this spring doesn’t have to be an “off season for me.” The baggy jeans for spring 2009 are not the stiff, structured baggy jeans with exaggerated tapered ankles we saw in the 80’s.
This season's baggys have a soft pajama- like quality. If you are a fan of tapered ankles, don’t worry, for every designer that is showing my favorite, straight trouser legs there are several designers are doing a salute to harem pants. Either way the fit is pure comfort or flattering to most body types which I think is really fabulous.
Whether you’re into dark “barely worn” jeans or the distressed look complete with holes, you’re sure to find something baggy that fits. Try pairing your jeans with one of this season embellished tops for a fun evening or date look, or pair them with a darling form fitting blazer. Whatever your personal style is, it’s in the bag.
