Gold has been a hot commodity; and just about the only thing increasing in value. The color gold pretty much sums up spring 2009 in a nutshell. Open any major fashion magazine and it seems like if it’s not black it's gold. Is it the new black? Time will tell but metallics are hot this season and the Midas touch is taking front seat. It's got that luxe feel to it.
From fabrics to feathers, sequins to sandals,bracelets to belts, it’s gold. Every designer from Prada to ‘nada” is showing gold in their spring line in some way shape or form. Gold is represented in pretty much every clothing and accessory category for spring 2009.
This isn’t one of my favorites for spring 2009 but I have to say designers are definitely using their imaginations on this trend. The gold rush runs the gamut from haute couture runways to the local mall. Hard core fashionistas with money to burn might want to check out a pair of gold sequined Dohli pants. But if you’re on a budget like me, try a pair of oversized cuffs and strike it rich.
