Baubles bangles and beads have been all the rage since right before the holidays and rings are one of the most favorite baubles of all Normally I am not a ring person but could not resist some of the eye-catching styles and I have started making an exception.
I purchased a few before the holidays and have plans to add a few more to my accessory wardrobe. Some are really eye-catching conversation starters. The popularity of these cocktail rings is part of the continuing retro salute in fashion we have been seeing Take your pick because whatever your style and taste is there is a ring out there in fashion land for you.
I tend to go for the anything oversized and anything “pretty”. I purchased a mink pom-pom for winter and for spring I think something sweet like a flower or an unpolished stone would be fun. For the fashionista that loves bling there are huge rings with “rocks” of semi-precious, precious and downright fake stones in every color of the rainbow. If whimsical is more your taste you can choose from insects, flowers, mini sculptures and even tiny birds.
Lots of designers are adding jewelry to their lines, one of my favorites for this trend is Tarina Tarantino, who came on the fashion scene as the queen of hair jewelry a few years ago. Lots of her rings are reminiscent of the whimsical hairclips and barrettes she is famous for. Being fashionable is easy this season with a big cocktail ring with lots of bling.
