Here come platform clogs again. First time, back a wee bit :), they were all the rage and I had to have a pair. The uniform was to pair a platform clog with cuffed Levis, a cute tops and belt with huge buckle. Come to think of it, both of those other items have re-appeared on the fashion scene, so I guess it’s only fair and actually quite cool we are seeing platform clogs again. Let's hope the hair doesn't reappear as well.
I didn’t think it was possible but these shoes have come back and come back in a big way. First time they were part of my shoe collection they were definitely cool but not couture. In fact even though I had started buying my own clothes, I had a couple of pairs by Frye, MIA and Zodiac. This time around the fashion block however, these platform clogs are chic and oh so pricey.
Along with the golden oldies, ugh, there are some fashion heavy hitters showing these shoes in and with their lines: Karl Lagerfeld, Celine’s Phoebe Philo, and Louis Vuitton for example. It’s actually quite charming and heartwarming but these clogs are the new must-have footwear (and comfy to boot!). I am not sure if I will own a pair this time around. They might be out of my budget, but it makes me giggle and think how lucky for me that they were more moderately priced the first time around. I could have been scarred for life if I didn’t have the right shoes at that very sensitive age. I guess I will be watching for a bargain for old times’ sake.
