The holidays are a perfect time to try on some new looks. You can definitely glam it up and no one will blink an eye. There are several themes or personas we gals use when putting together an outfit and one of them is the “bad girl look” a little leather and attitude.
If your look is normally more tomboy, preppy or bohemian try a little more naughty than nice this holiday season with leather. There is a salute to the 80’s going on but this isn’t the bad girl look all in black leather. The "bad girl " of 2009 is wearing leather but with subtle sexy restraint and some softness.
Here are a few ideas:.
1. Black leather skirt or dress worn with lady-like accessories like pearls or faux fur.
2. Try a black leather skirt or pants paired with a pretty blouse, boyfriend blazer or simple turtle neck sweater.
3. How about a fitted leather jacket worn as a blouse over slacks or skirt?
4. Boots-flats, heels, thigh high or bootie with either studs or delicate cut outs
5. Pair leather leggings with an oversized sweater or cashmere twin-set.
If a leather garment doesn’t fit into your budget or wardrobe, try some leather accessories like a pair of studded leather cuffs, funky oversized leather bow headband or leather bib necklace. But remember black leather like leopard, denim, and cashmere rarely go out of style so purchasing a black leather garment could be filed under investment dressing to ease your troubled fashion conscious mind.
